Class will be cancelled with less than 4 participants - Refunds will only be given for a cancelled class. Class may be cancelled up to 4 days before date.

SEWINGBEGINNING Getting Back to Sewing

So you have a sewing machine, you have desire, you want to create….this is the class for you. Receive basic instruction on how to use your machine and do simple sewing. You will be able to create basic, fun, unique items for your home at the end of this class. Work on projects that fall in these categories: simple curtains, pillows/pillowcases, napkins, tablecloths, table runners. Leave with confidence to attack those “ I want to” projects.

**Silk Workshop, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1:00-5:00pm
Silk Scarf Sampler
In this workshop, you will make a beautiful scarf that incorporates seam,
hemming and finishing techniques in silk dupioni, china silk, silk chiffon and organza. The skills that you will learn while making the scarf will transfer to garment sewing, home decorating or producing exquisite accessories. You will leave with the confidence to sew on all types of silk fabric - your new all-purpose fabric. Materials supply list to be furnished upon registration. Sample scarf will be in the store.

DESIGN/CRAFTS  The Extraordinary Chair with Christine Shively
This is a great creative way to use fabric to assemble a decorative chair Students tailor the chair to individual’s concept, choose her own trims and color combinations. Basic sewing skills required. Completed chair is approximately 4X4 inches square and about 13 to 15 inches tall.

Students meet and choose fabric with instructor’s consultation, purchase pattern and receive instruction on basic things to do in advance so that we can make the most of our class time.
Saturday, September 17: 10am-5pm, 1 hr break for lunch.

Learn how to take your basic knitting to a whole new level. Use a textile and knitting to create a funky, fun accessory with your favorite fabric. (basic knitting experience required) ) Knit/pearl will be reviewed, so you are welcome if you need to brush up on skills. If you are interested in sewing a lining for your bag please bring your sewing machine and we will learn/review basic sewing skills. Cost: $30
